Advanced Ground Robot for Drone Defense

A new wheeled ground robot named Contra-drone NEO has been developed in Ukraine, featuring an advanced electronic warfare suite. This device is intended to safeguard positions and military units from drone threats during combat operations.

A representative from the manufacturing company told "Defender" that the NEO is equipped with a 10-channel electronic warfare system capable of effectively countering FPV drones and "Mavics".

The robot features two types of antennas: a dome antenna for multi-directional coverage, and a directional antenna that operates in a specific direction with increased power.

The directional antenna is specifically designed to combat drones like the Mavic and Autel, located at the front of the robot. The operator can adjust its tilt angle to aim at hostile drones conducting reconnaissance or carrying payloads.

The NEO can carry up to 300 kg over a distance of 30 km, reaching speeds of up to 15 km/h.

The robot is equipped with puncture-proof tires that can withstand detonations from anti-personnel mines. Contra-drone NEO can rotate 360 degrees, allowing for quick directional changes.

The robot can be controlled via Starlink, which serves as the primary control system. If the drone becomes stuck in bushes or loses connection, the operator can switch to radio control, which has a range of up to 5 km.

Equipped with surveillance and thermal imaging cameras, the NEO also receives assistance from an aerial reconnaissance UAV during missions, which corrects routes and identifies dangers.

The Contra-drone company indicated that the robot was designed with multiple applications in mind. Its platform can deliver supplies to positions or evacuate the wounded. The electronic warfare equipment mounted above the platform can be removed and repurposed for different tasks.

Several units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already acquired Contra-drone NEO robots. The cost of the NEO with electronic warfare capabilities varies depending on the configuration, starting at approximately 1.2 million UAH.
