On October 17, Kyiv added four new ambulances provided by Brussels to its fleet. This was announced by the city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Brussels has delivered a total of 9 ambulances to Kyiv, including the latest ones.
The previous five ambulances are currently assisting in saving the health and lives of Kyiv's residents, particularly after enemy shelling.
Klitschko stated that Brussels is also helping to equip city medical facilities and train local medical staff. Throughout the war, various humanitarian aid, equipment, and specialized vehicles have been provided.
“Today, together with the mayor of Brussels, Philippe Close, we visited the prosthetics center 'Human Titans' that opened at the end of summer in one of the city hospitals. This facility provides assistance to injured soldiers and civilians in need of modern prosthetics and rehabilitation. It is equipped with a 3D scanner for producing high-precision prosthetic components,” said Vitali Klitschko.
The center was established with the support of Berlin's mayor Kai Wegner and the charity organization Life Bridge Ukraine, along with ONUR GROUP Ukraine.
Currently, 13 veterans from various regions of Ukraine are undergoing prosthetics and rehabilitation at the center, three of whom are already in the final stage.
Additionally, 6 prosthetists from Kyiv have trained in prosthetics centers in Berlin.
As part of the project, over 60 Ukrainian soldiers with lower limb amputations of varying complexities have received prosthetics at the Bundeswehr military hospital.
“Now injured defenders receive prosthetics at a center operating in Kyiv. The implementation of such projects demonstrates the strength of partnerships between European cities, which help save the health and lives of Ukrainians,” emphasized Vitali Klitschko.
