In the early hours of October 16, numerous users from around the globe reported issues accessing YouTube's services. The YouTube team acknowledged the problems with video playback on YouTube, YouTube Music, and YouTube TV.
Shortly after, they announced that the issues had been resolved and users could resume watching videos, though the cause of the disruption remained unclear.
According to NetBlocks, an organization monitoring internet access, this incident was not related to internet outages or country-level restrictions.
Data from Downdetector indicated that the peak of complaints occurred at 2:36 AM on October 16, with over 330 thousand users reporting problems. Complaints came from Ukraine, the USA, the UK, Canada, Japan, Australia, and several other nations.
