Since the beginning of the year, municipal road maintenance enterprises under the «Kyivavtodor» corporation have upgraded 327 pedestrian crossings with lowered curbs and tactile navigation systems. These improvements are being implemented across all city districts, as reported by «Kyivavtodor».
Additionally, barrier-free access to socially significant facilities is being established. This work involves creating tactile navigation and accessible pedestrian routes from public transport stops to important community facilities.
So far, upgrades have been completed at 23 such facilities, with plans to create 28 more barrier-free approaches by the end of the year.
According to «Kyivavtodor», necessary design solutions for creating a barrier-free environment are being implemented within the framework of capital repairs and reconstructions of the street and road network.
All accessibility enhancements on the city roads are conducted with the involvement of relevant public organizations focused on inclusion and accessibility issues.
