New Transportation Developments in Kyiv

The Podil Bridge is set to be a crucial component for enhancing the capital's transportation infrastructure. It currently connects the left and right banks of Kyiv and plays a vital role in improving the city's transport mobility.

According to the Department of Transportation Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration, the next step will be the construction of an exit to Podil. This will alleviate traffic flow and make movement within the city more comfortable.

Simultaneously, preparations are underway for the first phase of the Podil-Vyhurivska metro line construction, which will link both banks of the capital. The project includes building a section from the station 'Hlybovytska' to the station 'Rainbow'.

The line will feature stations 'Hlybovytska', 'Podilska', 'Rainbow', and three stations as part of the bridge structure. Transfer nodes are planned between the stations 'Lukyanivska' — 'Hlybovytska' and 'Taras Shevchenko' — 'Podilska'. The 'Rainbow' station will be constructed on the left bank.

Currently, some preparatory work has already been completed. After the exit to Podil is built, work necessary for launching the metro to Troyeshchyna will commence.

As a reminder, on August 23rd, traffic was fully opened in both directions on the Podil Bridge.
