New Travel Opportunities to Europe for Ukrainians

image

Today, 280 passengers boarded direct trains to Bratislava, Budapest, and Vienna. This marks the beginning of regular transport services that open new horizons for Ukrainians traveling across Europe. This was reported by the Vice Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Community Development, Oleksiy Kubela, via Telegram.
This initiative represents a significant step in Ukraine's integration into the European Union. Now, Ukrainian cities will have direct rail connections with the EU, and our infrastructure will become part of the European transport network.

Here is the schedule:

  •  №961/618 Uzhhorod – Bratislava (daily)
  •  №146 Uzhhorod – Budapest – Vienna (daily)

Starting from December 2025, after updating the schedule, passengers can expect convenient connections with domestic flights, including more overnight trains. Additionally, a new route №644/647 Euro Circle: Zahony – Berehove – Borzhava has launched on September 12, directly linking Berehove with the railway hub in Zahony, from where trains depart throughout Hungary. The implementation of this project was made possible through the cooperation of Ukrzaliznytsia, the Ministry of Community Development, and support from the European Commission and the European Investment Bank.
Gratitude to Ukrainian railway workers and our European partners for making this vital project a reality. This is the first Euro-standard railway built from scratch in Ukraine's modern history.
