The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has arrived in Washington for crucial meetings with the US President and European leaders.

This was announced on his Telegram channel.

"I have arrived in Washington. Tomorrow I will meet with President Trump, and we will also discuss matters with European leaders. I appreciate the invitation from the US President", - he stated.

We all want to swiftly and reliably end this war, emphasizes Zelensky. Peace must be lasting, unlike years ago when Ukraine was forced to cede Crimea and part of Donbas, which provided a launching pad for new attacks from Russia. We remember the so-called «security guarantees» of 1994, which proved ineffective. Giving up Crimea was a mistake, just as Ukrainians did not surrender Kyiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv in 2022.

"Ukrainians are fighting for their land and independence. Our forces are achieving successes in Donetsk and Sumy regions. I am confident we will defend Ukraine and effectively guarantee its security, and our people will always be grateful to President Trump and all our partners in America for their support. Russia must end this war that it started. I hope that our combined strength with America and our European friends will compel Russia to achieve real peace", - the President emphasized.

It was previously reported that a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine and President Donald Trump of the United States is scheduled to take place in the Oval Office on Monday. Additionally, European leaders are expected to visit the White House to discuss potential avenues for ending the war in Ukraine.
