At VDNH, in collaboration with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the urban bureau Big City Lab, a Therapeutic Garden is being established featuring a unique lighting system designed by Expolight. This information was shared by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
The lighting system aims to alleviate stress and help individuals detach from the hustle and bustle of urban life.
It will be utilized for meditation paths, relaxation zones, and to enhance focus where needed. The system will include both individual-configured lighting fixtures and underground lighting for trees and plants, based on diodes that mimic the sunset spectrum—the most harmonious for humans.
The Ministry of Veterans Affairs emphasizes that this solution draws on successful practices from Japan, Switzerland, and Scandinavian countries, where lighting in gardens and rehabilitation centers helps maintain circadian rhythms and reduce anxiety.
The Therapeutic Garden at VDNH will serve as a space for recovery and sensory relief for veterans, military personnel, and all guests.
The effect will be achieved through visual, auditory, and tactile interaction with nature, body practices, and communal activities. Gardening therapy, body practices, art therapy, master classes, as well as an adaptive sports ground, individual relaxation areas, and a space for children will be organized here.
This project is being implemented by VDNH in collaboration with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs as part of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine, initiated by the First Lady Olena Zelenska.
