A video has surfaced on TikTok allegedly featuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky promising financial support to citizens who stayed in the country after February 24, 2022. The video claims the amount of the payment is 7348 hryvnias.
This is reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council (CCD).
To “receive” this money, the creators of the fake content suggest clicking a link in the profile and filling out a form.
“In reality, such payments are not planned, and the video address by the President is fabricated. The goal of spreading such fakes is to increase traffic to Telegram channels linked in the published links,” the report states.
The CCD emphasizes that accurate information regarding payments should only be verified through official governmental resources. The Center has already debunked a similar fake regarding a supposed payment of 24,000 hryvnias to those who stayed in the country after February 24, 2022.
