Latvia is sending 16 fire trucks from the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) to Ukraine, equipped with emergency rescue tools.

This was reported by the news agency LSM.

The handover ceremony took place on Friday morning, attended by Latvia's Minister of the Interior, Rihards Kozlovskis, SFRS leadership, and representatives from the organization Tavi draugi.

On July 8, the Latvian Cabinet of Ministers approved the initiative for the free transfer of 16 fire vehicles and specialized rescue equipment to Ukraine.

The vehicles will be delivered to Ukraine by SFRS staff who volunteered to undertake this task during their free time.
