The Security Service of Ukraine announced the arrest of a Russian agent who was planning a terror attack in Dnipro. Thanks to counterintelligence efforts, an explosion near the administrative building of a law enforcement agency was prevented. Investigators found that a 29-year-old woman from Vinnytsia, struggling with drug addiction, was recruited by Russian special services. After receiving instructions, she moved to Pavlohrad, where she retrieved an explosive device from a stash. Subsequently, under the curator's guidance, she was to conduct reconnaissance in Dnipro and prepare a location for the explosive's placement.

The SBU acted swiftly, seizing the explosive device and arresting the woman during her escape attempt. The arrest occurred at a checkpoint as she tried to leave for Odesa.

Investigators have charged her with preparing a terrorist act and she is currently in custody. She faces up to 12 years in prison.
