The Ukrainian firm Odd Systems has announced a significant partnership with the Danish defense giant Terma Group. Together, they will work on creating an affordable solution for intercepting drones using artificial intelligence.
According to their press release, the main challenge in developing drone interceptors is the complexity of detecting, tracking, and neutralizing hostile UAVs with autonomous systems.
The types of Russian drones that need to be countered vary widely, from FPV drones and tactical models like the Mavic to fixed-wing UAVs like Zala and long-range strike drones such as Shahed.
"Terma and Odd Systems will combine their technologies to develop effective solutions against these and other aerial threats," noted Odd Systems.
Odd Systems is a defense technology company headquartered in Kyiv, specializing in the development of thermal cameras and FPV drones.
The company supplies the FPV air interceptor platform Horskа-12, as well as strike FPV platforms "Stus-7" and "Lupinis-10". It also manufactures thermal cameras for FPV drones Kurbas-256 and Kurbas-640 in Ukraine.
Terma A/S is the largest Danish manufacturer of defense and aerospace products for both civil and military applications. Their offerings include radar systems, avionics, and space electronics. Additionally, it was mentioned that the company supplies components for the F-35.
Recently, the Director of the Defense Procurement Agency, Arsen Zhumadilov, stated that the agency has contracted thousands of drone interceptors.
