The Ukrainian government has introduced new regulations for the drug distribution market, imposing limits on the supply share from a single distributor.
This information was provided by the Ministry of Health's press service.
The new rules establish equal conditions for all distributors, including uniform pricing, payment terms, and supply conditions.
Specifically, the supply of any medication from a manufacturer or importer to a single distributor cannot exceed 20% of the net revenue from sales in the previous year.
This limit can only be exceeded if other distributors do not submit purchase requests.
The changes to licensing requirements will take effect two months after the publication of the decree.
Currently, the drug distribution market is dominated by two companies: "BaDM" and "Optima-Pharm."
As of September 2021, "BaDM" was responsible for about 40% of drug supplies to pharmacies, according to Forbes, while "Optima-Pharm" accounted for approximately 45%.
