Following the completion of the AN-124-100 modernization, owned by Antonov, the aircraft has been relocated to Germany.
This was reported by the press service of JSC «Antonov» on Facebook.
«We have completed a long-term project for the deep modernization of one of our iconic transport aircraft, AN-124-100, serial number 0706. On July 11, 2025, «Ruslan» was safely relocated to Germany», the statement reads.
This aircraft, manufactured in 1994, has logged over 21,000 flight hours and conducted more than 5,500 flights. The modernization efforts began in 2021, aiming to replace the main components previously sourced from Russia with modern parts from Western and Ukrainian manufacturers.
Due to the full-scale aggression of Russia in 2022, the work was partially halted, and the aircraft was dismantled at that time. The team managed to resume work and complete the modernization in June 2025.
«The relocation of «Ruslan» is not just a technical decision, but a symbol of resilience, professionalism, and unity among Ukrainian aircraft builders. The enhanced «Ruslan» will continue to fly and serve Ukraine on the international front», the company added.
Currently, the aviation fleet of the enterprise is in a secure condition, in accordance with internal safety protocols.
As previously reported, JSC «Antonov» received an award from The Heavy Lift Group (THLG) for its contribution to the development of the global heavy and oversized transportation market.
