The death toll from drowning continues to rise.
Another unfortunate incident occurred last weekend in Bila Tserkva. Rescuers were alerted about a person drowning in the Ros River. This was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in Kyiv region.
A crew from the 3rd State Fire and Rescue Unit of Bila Tserkva arrived at the scene. They retrieved the body of the man from the water using a boat and rope. The police are investigating the details of this tragic event.
In hot weather, the number of drowning incidents sharply increases. Recently, an unknown man's body was found in the water at the “Alexandria” dendrological park in Bila Tserkva.
In June alone, 98 people drowned in Ukraine, including 8 children. Since the beginning of 2025, water has claimed the lives of 467 individuals, including 28 minors.
Rescuers emphasize the importance of adhering to safety rules while resting near water bodies, urging people to care for their own safety and that of their loved ones. According to statistics, the most common cause of death by drowning among adults is alcohol intoxication.
