In the new composition, elements of Petrikovka painting can be recognized.
Employees of the KP UZN Podil district have implemented a vibrant floral installation at Kontraktova Square, merging traditional Ukrainian ornaments with contemporary landscape design. The sketch of the flowerbed features motifs from Petrikovka painting, imbuing the space with national color and harmony. This was reported by the KP UZN Podil district.
Several plant species have been planted as part of the decoration, each playing a vital role in the overall concept. Begonia adds tenderness to the composition with its lush flowers in warm tones. Alternanthera creates bright accents with its rich red and burgundy leaves, reminiscent of traditional Ukrainian patterns. Coleus, in turn, complements the overall color palette with contrasting combinations of green, yellow, and purple hues.
Every element of the composition is carefully thought out to create an aesthetic space for the relaxation of residents and guests of Kyiv. The new flowerbed not only beautifies the square but also reminds of the richness of Ukrainian culture, giving passersby a good mood and inspiration.
As a reminder, for Kyiv Day, each district's greenery enterprise has arranged mini-parks as a gift to the city and its residents—cozy green islands within the city.
The parks feature benches, pergolas, modular flowerbeds, and for the landscaping, specialists selected plants that are resilient to urban conditions: ornamental grasses such as Chinese miscanthus, foxtail millet, blue fescue, and others.
A large number of perennial flowers have also been planted, including physostegia, echinacea, sage, geranium, phlox, and others. Among the trees and shrubs in the parks, forsythia intermedia, spiraea vanhouttei, Chinese spiraea, white dogwood, vertical cornel, Cossack juniper, catalpa bignonioides, large-leaved linden, and silver maple have been utilized.
