What you need to know about the “Land Bank” project
The «Land Bank» project allows Ukrainian farmers to lease agricultural plots managed by state agricultural enterprises through online auctions on the «Prozorro. Sales» digital platform.
On average, seven participants compete for each lot, which increases the overall sublease value eightfold, as noted by Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
«This is a prime example of a new quality of public asset management, where land works for the economy and creates opportunities for the agribusiness sector nationwide,» Svyrydenko stated.
69.1% of the auction winners within the «Land Bank» are representatives of small and medium-sized agribusiness. Among the sublessees are those who have signed over 20 sublease agreements and are actively cultivating these lands, mentioned Yaroslav Yaroslavskyi, CEO of the State Land Bank.
