On June 11 at 5:40 PM, the premiere of the documentary film "Sledstva.Info" titled "Executed. The Story of a Man Who Tried to Return Home" will take place as part of the international documentary film festival Docudays UA.

The film centers around the story of 45-year-old Oleksandr Stepanenko, who in March 2022 traveled from Kyiv to Irpin to hand over the keys to his vehicles to the territorial defense. However, he never reached his destination. Ten days later, his family identified the remains of his burned body – Oleksandr was shot dead by the occupiers with a bullet to the head.

The authors, Vladyslava Kobko and Taras Fedorenko, meticulously recreated the circumstances of that day and uncovered the details surrounding Oleksandr Stepanenko's death. Journalists managed to obtain unique audio interceptions, photos, and interviews with a Russian officer who was stationed on the Zhytomyr highway and knows who among his "brothers" could have shot Oleksandr.

The editorial team notes that in April 2022, after the withdrawal of Russian troops from Kyiv region, horrific footage from the Zhytomyr highway emerged. This road was attempted by many civilians, primarily from Kyiv, escaping westward from the bombings of the capital and its outskirts. Meanwhile, Russian soldiers set up positions along the highway and fired at cars. Dozens of Ukrainians – both adults and children – lost their lives on the Zhytomyr highway during those days.
