It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Diana Popova, the director of the Kyiv History Museum.

Details: Popova took the helm of the museum during the challenging times following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

She had been ill for a long time and began chemotherapy in 2022. In March 2025, she expressed that she was experiencing the toughest weeks of her life.

Background: Previously, Popova was the head of the Culture Department of the Kyiv City Administration and had a background in business. She was 48 years old.
